Imaginary pictures is part of the consortium delivering the 5G vista project. VISTA (Video In Stadia Technical Architecture) is designed to provide enhanced interactive viewing experiences direct to devices in stadia and at other select locations, using 5G FeMBMS technology.
The £2.3 million project comprises a ten company-strong consortium that includes mobile network operator O2, and the DTG.
Initial testing took place at the Digital Catapult LAB.
The Second phase of the project demonstrated an app allowing the user to switch between the main race feed and on board car feeds from a British touring cars race. The project will run till March 2022, when the system will be deployed at a major sporting event in the UK.
